25 languages, detected automatically
Cohearo transcribes 25 languages on-device: every official language of the European Union except Irish, plus Russian and Ukrainian.
Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Ukrainian.
There's no language picker anywhere in the app — the model detects which language you're speaking automatically, and also produces punctuation, capitalization, and word- and segment-level timestamps. Audio in a language outside this list produces a poor transcript rather than an error, so there's no reliable way to "try it and see" for an unsupported language.
Diarization isn't limited the same way
Speaker diarization — telling who's speaking apart — doesn't share the 25-language limit. It identifies a voice from its acoustic properties, not from the language being spoken, so speaker separation works more broadly than transcription accuracy does. In an unsupported language, expect correctly separated speakers with a less reliable transcript, not a failure of both.
